A little history!
Bakkies B&B is named after Bakkies Smit, long time host of what was without doubt Wellington's most popular out-of-town restaurant, "Bakkies se Padstal" as it was known in the Afrikaans language - English translation: Bakkie's Farmstall.
After retiring from managing the restaurant in 1997, Bakkies sold the business, whereafter he entered the accommodation service. Bakkies aims to offer a uniquely hospitable, effortless stay for his guests.
You can always rely on the personal service and warm hospitality from Bakkies, Ronel (his wife) and Marius du Plessis (the manager).
Comfort means not only a place to put up your feet; it also means rooms that are a reflection of intimacy and warmth— which is what the visitor finds at Bakkies — and much more.
